The Ballard football team defeated Gilbert 6-2 (4-2) on Friday night 49-41 behind their rushing attack. The Bombers 5-3 (3-3) amassed 504 yard rushing. The Bombers were led by junior Hunter Wright who carried the ball 27 times for 287 yards and 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Max Stoltz rushed the ball 11 times for 164 yards. Senior Cade Wilson moved over to the offensive side of the ball at full back and carried the ball 8 times for 31 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Bombers were led defensively by senior Seth Moore. Moore finished with 19 tackles.
The Bombers close out the regular season by hosting the Greene County Rams on Friday - October 21. The freshman-sophomore game will kick off at 4:45 PM with the varsity to kick off at 7:30 PM. It is Senior Night and all cross country, cheerleading, and football athletes will be recognized at 7:00 PM.
