Bomber's Defense Keeps Bluejays In Check

Sam Salasek had 12 tackles for the Bombers and Sam Petersen and Connor Finch had 9 each as the Bomber's no bend defense held Bondurant-Farrar late in a 20-17 district victory on Friday night at Richard Strouse Field.  The Bombers contained the Bluejay's running back, Kaeden Lozana, who is second in 3A in rushing yards and touchdowns.  Lozana finished with 165 yards on 34 carries and two scores.  Logan Harmeyer had 8.5 tackles and and Mason Murphy finished with 6.  The Bombers defensive backs held the Bluejay's passing attack in check for the majority of the game allowing only 66 completion yards.

Petersen had 6 receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown.  Jacob Ihle caught three balls for 36 yards.  Connor Drew was 14 of 21 for 209 yards with a touchdown.

With the win, the Bombers improve to 3-3 (2-0) on the season.

The Bombers are back in action on Friday - October 11 when they host Carlisle in district football action.  The freshman game will kick off at 4:45 PM and the varsity will kick off at 7:30 PM.
