Bombers Finish Regular Season With 2nd Place Showing

The Ballard women's cross country team rested their top 6 runners on Thursday at Saydel and still managed to finish second.  The Bombers were paced by their lone varsity runner, Hailey Cole.  Cole finished with a time of 21:56 good enough for an 11th place finish.  Junior Abby Catus, who is battling tightness, ran a gutsy race to finish 14th overall with a time of 22:15.  Abbey Ross, Olivia Dee, and Sydney Halverson finished in the middle of the Ballard line-up with a 16th, 20th, and 26th finish.  Seniors Steph Knittel and Reagan Doty finished off their final regular season meet finishing 18th and 56th respectively.

"I'm really proud of all the girls.  They stepped up and proved that our 7-14 runners are better than many, many varsity line-ups.  Our depth is great!", stated Coach Scott Barth.

The Bombers are back in action on Thursday - October 20 when they compete at the district meet at Central College in Pella.  The varsity will begin at 4:00 PM.
