Bombers Take 2nd At Tiger Invitational

Bombers Take 2nd At Tiger Invitational

The women's cross country team ran in the Tiger Invitational at ADM on Monday.  The Bombers placed 2nd at the invitational.  Anna Zielke finished 3rd for the Bombers in a time of 22:56.  Sophomore Abbey Ross finished 4th with a time of 23:12.  Ashley Wuestenberg (11th - 24:13), Kate Rietz (12th - 24:22), Sydney Halverson (16th - 24:44), and Quinn Thompson (25:52) rounded out the Bomber's scoring.

Comments From Head Coach Scott Barth:

"We rested the regular varsity girls in this meet since they had competed on Saturday at the Heartland Classic. That brought up our #8-14 runners to test their abilities in varsity competition. They did very well. Paced by Anna Zielke, who is trying to fight her way back in the varsity line-up, with a 3rd place finish the girls finished 2nd overall in the team standings. That's quite an accomplishment. Most of the girls in this line-up would be running varsity in many other schools and they performed well."

The Bombers are back in action on Tuesday, September 26 when they compete at the Nevada Invitational at Hickory Grove in Colo.  The meet will feature the middle school, junior varsity, and varsity and start at 4:30 PM.
