Bombers Win Third Meet Of The Season

Bombers Win Third Meet Of The Season

The women's cross country team ran in the Tiger Invitational at ADM on Monday.  The Bombers won the invitational scoring 17 points and all scoring runners finishing in the top 10.  Ellie Twedt won the race for the Bombers in a time of 20:24.  Sophomore Caitling Maher finished 2nd with a time of 21:14.  Meg Rietz (3rd - 22:12), Hailey Cole (5th - 22:26), Rachel Wohlgemuth (6th - 22:41),  Brooke Loewe (7th - 22:42) and Josie Fleischmann (23:11) rounded out the Bomber's scoring.

Comments From Head Coach Scott Barth:

"Ellie Twedt got a confidence builder in winning this meet pretty solidly over another good runner from Ballard, Caitlin Maher.  Then a string of Ballard finished in the 3rd, 5th and 6th to close out our scoring.  We are a good team but will need to tighten up our pack even more over the next few weeks to be in the chase for a conference and regional championships.  These are hard working women though and I know they will do what it takes to get it done.  A huge key for us is the emergence of freshmen Meg Rietz (#3 overall tonight) and Brooke Loewe (#7 overall tonight).  Our other varsity girls have experience and are stabilizing forces for us.  These freshman are talented athletes and can definitely help us over the hump and make us even better. They are learning each meet and becoming better competitors."

The Bombers are back in action on Tuesday, September 25 when they compete at the Nevada Invitational at Hickory Grove in Colo.  The meet will feature the middle school, junior varsity, and varsity and start at 4:30 PM.
