Ballard Defeats Carroll 14-3
HUXLEY, IA -- The Ballard baseball team (7-6, 4-3) secured a decisive victory against the Carroll Tigers in an exciting Raccoon River Conference matchup on Thursday evening. The Bombers, led by standout performances from several key players, showcased their talent and determination, leaving the Tigers struggling to keep pace.
Senior Eli Rouse delivered an exceptional performance at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three singles and a double. Rouse drove in four runs, contributing significantly to Ballard's offensive dominance.
Nicolas Schonhorst also shone brightly, going 2-for-3 with two singles, one RBI, and a walk.
Other notable contributions came from junior designated hitter Miles Mudd, who went 1-for-2 with a single and an RBI, and senior first baseman Jaxon Hermann, who also went 1-for-3 with a single and an RBI.
On the mound, Owen Greco delivered a strong performance, pitching 3.2 innings with a low 1.91 ERA. Greco allowed only two hits and one earned run while striking out seven batters.
The Bombers will look to continue their winning momentum as they prepare to face North Polk on Monday, June 10. The junior varsity game is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM, followed by the varsity matchup.
