Bluejays Fast Paced Start Dooms Bombers
Bondurant-Farrar Defeats Ballard 47-14
The Ballard football team got off to a slow start in their season opener at Bondurant-Farrar on Friday night. The Bluejays took advantage of it in their 47-14 win over the Bombers.
The Bombers were led by Gabriel Christensen who rushed for 100 yards on 17 carries. Quarterback Ashton Hermann was 16 of 23 for 137 yards and two touchdown passes. Jacob Ihle had six catched on the night for 41 yards and a touchdown. Jayden Cattell had the other touchdown reception and had three catches for 49 yards.
Defensively, the Bombers were led by Jack Nelson (6), Blake Stover (7.5), Jayden Swain (6.5), and Ihle (6.5) in tackles. Beau Warg punted the ball five times for 179 yards.
With the loss, the Bombers fall to 0-1 (0-0) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - September 3 when they travel to ADM in non-district action. The freshman game will kick off at 4:15 PM and the varsity will kick off at 7:00 PM.
