Cubs Use Strong Second Half To Defeat Bombers
#5 Nevada Defeats Ballard 34-13
The Ballard football team put in a gutsy effort in their Homecoming game but the #5 Nevada Cubs would come out in the end with the 34-13 win. The Bombers led the Cubs 13-7 at the half, but Nevada took advantage of a short field in the second half and would secure its first win over the Bombers in 20 years.
Ashton Hermann was 14 of 21 for 79 yards. He threw for one touchdown and an interception. Eli Rouse carried the ball 13 times for 137 yards including an 85 yard touchdown run to tie the game in the second quarter. Jayden Cattell had four catches for 24 yards. Jacob Ihle and Bryce Haessig each had three receptions on the night.
Nick Wacha had 10.5 tackles and Jayden Swain had eight.
With the loss, the Bombers fall to 2-4 (0-2) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - October 8 when they host North Polk. The game will start at 7:00 PM.
