Turnovers Plague Bombers In Loss
North Polk Defeats Ballard 42-19
Two Bomber turnovers resulted in 14 points for North Polk as the Comets defeated the Bombers 42-19 on Friday night in district play. In the 2nd quarter, the Comets would intercept Bomber's quarterback Luke Hartsook and return in for a touchdown. In the following series, the Comets would force a punt and block Beau Warg's punt in the end zone to take a 20-0 lead. The Bombers would move the ball in the second half but could not overcome the 20-point defecit.
Hartsook threw for 233 yards with a touchdown pass and two interceptions. Chance Lande had six catches for 63 yards. Eli Rouse had four catches for 84 yards. Mason Gatchel had three catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Gabe Christensen had 12 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Lande, Brody Sampson, Tucker Vitzthum, and Jayden Swain each had five tackles or more.
With the loss, the Bombers fall to 1-6 (0-3) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - October 14 when they host Algona in district football action. The game will kick off at 7:00 PM.
