Panther's Quick, Long Plays Doom Bombers
Creston Defeats Ballard 48-28
The Ballard football team found themselves in an early deficit at Creston falling to the Panthers 48-28 on Friday night. Creston would score on three quick hitters giving them and early first quarter lead of 21-7. The Panthers would continue scoring building a 35-21 halftime lead and would hold on to win by 20 in the nondistrict contest.
A bright spot for the Bombers was Eli Rouse. Rouse rushed for 210 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns and had a reception for 13 yards.
Mason Gatchel was 14 of 23 for 134 yards. Nicolas Schonhorst had four catches for 25 yards. Chance Lande had three catches for 63 yards and Jude Gibson had three catches for 18 yards.
Defensively, Jackson Wacha had 11 tackles on the night. Caleb Sparks had a fumble recovery.
With the loss, the Bombers fall to 1-2 (0-0) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday - September 15 when they host Dallas Center-Grimes in non-district action. The freshman game will kick off at 4:45 PM and the varsity will kick off at 7:30 PM.
