Tigers Roll Past Bombers in Week Two Matchup
ADM Defeats Ballard 41-3
The Bombers hit the road Friday night looking to bounce back in their second game of the season, but ADM's high-powered offense proved too much to handle as the Tigers secured a 41-3 victory in Adel.
ADM jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter and carried a 27-3 advantage into halftime. Ballard's lone points came in the second quarter on a 33-yard field goal by junior kicker Sam Hoffman. ADM added two more touchdowns in the second half to seal the win.
Junior quarterback Bryce Miller led the Bomber offense through the air, completing 9 of 20 passes for 96 yards. Senior receiver Easton Ersland was his top target, hauling in five catches for 61 yards. On the ground, senior Dillon Shoen paced the rushing attack with 50 yards on eight carries, while Miller added 34 yards rushing and junior Jack Plucar contributed 26.
Despite the lopsided score, Ballard's defense had several bright spots. Sophomore Jake Clement tallied 10 total tackles, including eight solo stops. Senior Dillon Shoen added nine tackles, while junior Tanner Ruby had eight and also recovered a fumble. Senior Braden Skurdal recorded an interception.
With the loss, Ballard falls to 0-2 on the season. The Bombers will look to regroup in front of the home crowd next Friday when they host Nevada in their home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
