Bombers Hold Off #5 Tigers in Thrilling Victory
#1 Ballard Defeats #5 ADM 58-55
The Ballard men's basketball team maintained their perfect record with a thrilling 58-55 win over #5 ADM in a highly anticipated matchup on the road. The game was a back-and-forth battle from start to finish, with both teams showcasing their strengths, but the Bombers were able to hold off a late charge from ADM to secure the victory.
Ballard came out strong, led by the dynamic duo of Parker Miller and Jackson Brown. Miller finished the game with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists, while Brown contributed 16 points and played key minutes on both ends of the floor. Brown's shooting was on point, going 7-for-13 from the field and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc, helping the Bombers build a strong lead through the first three quarters.
Easton Ersland added 11 points, including 2 crucial three-pointers, while Jude Gibson chipped in with 13 points and 3 assists. Despite shooting struggles from the field, the Bombers were able to rely on their rebounding, pulling down 23 total boards as a team, with Parker Miller securing 10 rebounds, including 9 defensive boards.
ADM, ranked #5, didn't go down without a fight. The Tigers were led by their own standout performers, but the Bombers' defense, combined with clutch shooting in the final minutes, helped them hold off ADM's late rally. Despite a rough shooting night from beyond the arc (5-for-19), Ballard's ability to capitalize on free throws and their balanced scoring proved to be the difference.
The Bombers' defense was also a key factor, forcing 13 turnovers and maintaining pressure throughout the game. Though ADM mounted a strong push in the final minutes, Ballard's composure under pressure helped them secure the win.
Ballard's record improves to 6-0, remaining undefeated in conference play with a 5-0 record. The team will look to continue their strong start to the season when they face Gilbert on January 3 in another tough road matchup.
