Bombers Hold Off Tigers

The Ballard men's basketball team held off a tough challenge from Gilbert on Tuesday night, securing a 65-62 victory to improve their record to 14-1 overall and 13-1 in conference play.
The Bombers started strong, outscoring Gilbert 18-14 in the first quarter and maintaining their momentum with a 16-14 second-quarter advantage. Holding a six-point lead at halftime, Ballard continued to fend off Gilbert's advances in a high-scoring third quarter, edging them 19-18.
Despite being outscored 16-12 in the fourth, Ballard's defense and composure down the stretch proved crucial in securing the win. The Bombers withstood Gilbert's late surge and made key plays in the closing moments to seal the three-point victory.
With the win, Ballard remains at the top of the conference standings and will now prepare for their next matchup on Friday, February 7, when they travel to face Carroll at 7:30 PM.
