Men Open Season With Gritty Road Win at Norwalk
Ballard Defeats Norwalk 57-51
The Ballard men's basketball team started its season in impressive fashion Tuesday night, going on the road and earning a hard-fought 57–51 non-conference victory over Norwalk.
Ballard set the tone early with an 11–10 edge after the first quarter before duplicating the 11-point output in the second frame. The Bomber defense stepped up in the first half, holding the Warriors to just five second-quarter points and taking a 22–15 lead into the locker room.
Norwalk responded in the third, finding rhythm offensively and outscoring Ballard 21–15 to trim the margin to one heading into the final quarter. But the Bombers answered with their best offensive stretch of the night, putting up 20 fourth-quarter points to regain control and seal the win.
With the 57–51 victory, Ballard opens the year at 1–0 (0–0).
