Fast Start Fuels Bombers to 36-Point Victory
#1 Ballard Defeats Des Moines Hoover 83-47
The Ballard men's basketball team delivered a dominant performance Tuesday night in the Hangar, defeating Des Moines Hoover 83–47 in non-conference action.
From the opening tip, Ballard established control on both ends of the floor. The Bombers exploded for 29 points in the first quarter while limiting Hoover to just 8, setting the tone with defensive pressure and efficient offensive execution. Ballard extended its lead to 47–22 by halftime behind balanced scoring and strong transition play.
Hoover found more rhythm offensively in the third quarter, scoring 16 points, but Ballard responded with its most productive stretch of the night. The Bombers poured in 28 third-quarter points, consistently attacking the rim and converting second-chance opportunities to push the margin beyond 30. With the outcome well in hand, Ballard closed out the fourth quarter to secure the 36-point victory.
The win improves Ballard's record to 18-1 overall and 13-1 in conference play, as the team continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
