Bombers Come Up Just Short in Home Triangular
Ballard Shoots A 161
HUXLEY — In one of the closest finishes of the season, the Ballard men's golf team came up just short while hosting Winterset and Carlisle, finishing second in a tightly contested triangular.
Winterset claimed the team title with a 159, narrowly ahead of Ballard at 161, while Carlisle finished third with a 171.
The Bombers were led by an outstanding performance from Jamin Colvin, who earned medalist honors with a 1-under-par 35 to pace the field. Parker Domino added a 40, while Braden Skurdal followed with a 41. Drake Hosteng and Riley Dingel each carded 45s, and Kolby Robinson rounded out the lineup with a 47.
Despite the narrow two-stroke margin, Ballard remained within striking distance of Winterset from start to finish but couldn't quite close the gap late.
Up next, Ballard travels to Waterloo for a torunament at Gates Park Golf Course on Tuesday - April 28, hosted by Waverly-Shell Rock, set for 10:00 AM.
