Bombers Top Field at Webster City Invitational
Ballard Shoots A 311
The Ballard men's golf team put together a strong all-around performance Monday, capturing the team title at the Webster City Invitational with a winning score of 311. The Bombers edged Gilbert (321), while Iowa Falls-Alden (339), Estherville Lincoln Central (343), Carlisle (364), and Hampton-Dumont/CAL (419) completed the field.
Ballard's depth proved to be the difference as multiple golfers finished near the top of the leaderboard and packed tightly inside the top 10. Senior Drake Hosteng led the way with a 77, tying for fifth overall. Junior Parker Domino matched that mark with a 77 of his own, while sophomore Jamin Colvin added a consistent 78.
Junior Riley Dingel and Alex Weeks each contributed 79s, helping solidify the Bombers' scoring count and keep pressure on the rest of the field. Jordan Domino added an 81, giving Ballard additional depth and margin in the final team tally.
The Bombers' 311 held up as the low round of the day, securing the team championship in a competitive field. Gilbert's Johnathan Bouska and Webster City's Coyce Bertran shared medalist honors with matching rounds of 75 on the par-72 course.
Ballard will look to build on its momentum as it heads into the next competition on Monday, May 4 at the Washington Tournament, which is set to begin at 10:00 AM.
