Men's Tennis Battles At State
Hard Fight Sees End To Season
Two Ballard doubles groups qualified for the State Men's Tennis Tournament and competed on Tuesday. Bomber's Caden Miller and Colby Calvert and Jacob Ross and Jayden Cattell competed in Waterloo at the State Tournament.
Miller and Calvert would start off the day competing against Gerhardt and Loge from Clear Lake. The duo would defeat the Lions duo 6-2, 6-3 and advance to the quarterfinals. Ross and Cattell would compete against Denison's Reis and Dahm. Reis and Dahm would get the 6-3, 6-4 win eliminating the doubles group of Ross and Cattell.
In the quarterfinals, Miller and Calvert would fall to Boone's Overland and Zimmerman 6-1, 6-4. Miller and Calvert would then move to the consolation second round where they would face off with Camanche's Goble and Sbertoli. Goble and Sbertoli would defeat Miller and Calvert 6-3, 6-2 and end the season for the Bombers.
