The Ballard men's tennis team picked up a quick 5-0 win over Des Moines Hoover in the first round of district action.  The Bombers would get wins, all in singles action, from Caden Miller, Ian Godbold, Emmett Miller, Dawson Brekke, and Isaiah Zeigler.  In district play, one team needs to win five match wins to advance.

With the win over Des Moines Hoover, the Bombers would next play Kuemper who defeated Clarke 5-0 on the other side of the bracket.  The Knights and Bombers would split singles action tied up at 3 wins a piece. 

In doubles play, Ballard would pick up a win at the #1 doubles with Godbold and Miller.  The Knights would pick up a win in #3 doubles to tie the match at 4-4.  

It would come down to the #2 seeds of C. Miller and Brekke to help advance the Bombers.  With the set tied at 5, the duo would win the next two sets to advance the Bombers to the substate final on Wednesday.

With the wins, the Bombers improve to 10-5 on the season.

The Bombers are back in action on Wednesday - May 17 when they travel to North Polk for the substate final.  The meet will start at 3:30 PM.
