The Ballard men's tennis team avenged an early season loss to North Polk to defeat the Comets 5-4 in the substate final to advance to the State Tennis Tournament at the end of the month.

The Bombers would find themselves tied with the Comets 3-3 after singles play seeing the #1-3 seeds falling to the Comets and the #4-6 seeds winning their matches. 

In doubles play, the Bombers would get wins from the #2 seed (Caden Miller/Dawson Brekke) and #3 seed (Jace Krogh/Rylan Culp) to get to five wins and secure the Bomber's victory and state berth.  

With the win, the Bombers improve to 11-5 on the season.

The Bombers are back in action on Wednesday - May 31 when they travel to the State Tournament in Coralville.  The time is still to be determined and will be released after the seeding takes place.
