Tennis Claims Team Title at Saydel
Ballard Scores 16 Team Points
The Ballard men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance Saturday at the Saydel Tennis Tournament, capturing the team championship with 16 total points and showcasing depth across both singles and doubles play.
Ballard set the tone early and maintained control throughout the three-round format, outpacing a strong field that included North Polk (13 points), Clarke (4.5), and host Saydel (3).
Leading the way in singles was senior Eli Preston, who put together an impressive championship run. Preston cruised through the bracket, earning decisive victories along the way, including a 10-4 win over North Polk's Evan Fowle in the semifinals and a hard-fought 10-8 victory in the championship match over Ballard's Zack Ross.
In doubles, the duo of Easton Ersland and Seth Hilleman led the charge for Ballard. The pair advanced to the finals and ultimately secured a runner-up finish after a strong showing against a competitive field.
Ballard will look to carry that momentum into their next competition Monday at Norwalk starting at 1:00 PM.
