Bomber Men Finish Runner-Up in Tight Carroll Meet
Ballard Scores 140 Team Points
The Ballard men's track and field team turned in a strong, competitive performance Monday night at the Carroll Invitational, finishing second overall with 140 points—just six points behind team champion Carroll (146). IKM-Manning placed third with 113.5 in a closely contested meet.

The Bombers captured three first-place finishes on the track:

The sprint medley relay team of Hurst, Wilson, Leland, and Campbell ran to gold in 1:38.77.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Ihle, Wilson, Hinzman, and Kane took first in a season-best 60.03.

The distance medley relay of Hurst, Wilson, Leland, and Hermann added another title with a winning time of 3:42.16.
Individually, Ortner delivered a standout performance in the 400 meters, winning in 50.41 to anchor the sprint group.
Strong Podium Finishes Across Events
Ballard consistently placed near the top in multiple events:

Kane (2nd, 15.32) and Hinzman (3rd, 15.72) led a strong showing in the 110 hurdles.

Hermann finished 2nd in the 800 meters (2:09.74), while Campbell added a 4th-place PR (2:13.57).

Leland took 2nd in the 200 meters (23.76).

Davidson (2nd, 4:59.20) and Vance (3rd, 5:05.55) both podiumed in the 1600 meters.

In the 3200 meters, Davidson (2nd) and Vance (3rd) again delivered key distance points.

The 4x100 relay team finished 2nd in a season-best 44.29, while the 4x800 relay placed 3rd (9:49.68).
Field Events Add Valuable Points
Ballard also gained important contributions in the field events:

Pingel highlighted the throws with a personal-record discus throw of 135-5.

Sparks added a PR of 124-7 in the discus and led the team in shot put with a throw of 37-10.5.

Fuller paced the long jump group with a mark of 19-1.25.
