Brooklyn Baumgardner pitched seven solid innings and the Ballard softball team defeated #4 West Liberty 8-1 in the regional softball final on Tuesday night to punch their ticket to the state softball tournament next week. 

Baumgardner went the distance allowing one hit and striking out six.  She helped herself offensively going 3 for 4 for the Bombers driving in three.  Ella Husak was 2 for 3 and scored three runs.  Jocie Hobbs went 1 for 3 and drove in two.   

With the win, the Bombers improve to 16-20 (8-8) on the season.

The Bombers are back in action on Tuesday - July 19 when they travel to the State Softball Tournament.  Their opponent will be #2 Davenport Assumption.  Game time will be at 11:00 AM and the game will be played on the Kruger Seed Field at Harlan Rogers Park in Fort Dodge.
