Smothering Defense Leads Bombers To Victory
Ballard Defeats Dallas Center-Grimes 51-24
The women's basketball team shot 56% from the field and held Class 4A #10 Dallas Center-Grimes to a season low 24 points in the Bombers 51-24 victory on Tuesday night. The Bombers would hold the Fillies to 6 of 26 shooting (23%) on the evening. Twelve of the 24 Fillie points came from the freethrow line.
The Bombers were led by Cassidy Thompson who finished with 11 points. Thompson also had 5 blocks and 4 rebounds. Josie Fleischmann added 9 for the Bombers knocking down three 3-pointers. Maggie Larson had 8 points and Molly Ihle finished with 6.
With the win, the Bombers improve to 5-1 (2-0) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Friday, December 20 when they host #14 Bondurant-Farrar in a Raccoon River Conference match-up. The women will tip off at 6:00 PM.
