Strong Second Half Drives Bombers To Win
Ballard Defeats Carroll 61-31
The Ballard women's basketball team limited Carroll to 11 second half points in their 61-31 win at Carroll on Tuesday night. The Bombers carried a 5-point lead going in to halftime and used a strong third quarter to outscore the Tigers 22-9 and 14-2 in the fourth quarter to seal their twelfth conference victory of the year.
Molly Ihle and Josie Fleischmann led all scorers with 14 points a piece. Ihle also had 10 assists for the double-double. Brooke Loewe added 11 with three 3-pointers. Meg Rietz came off the bench and added 8 for the Bombers who can finish with a perfect conference record if they can beat Perry and Winterset this week.
With the win, the Bombers improve to 18-1 (12-0) on the season.
The Bombers are back in action on Thursday, February 13 when they travel to Perry in a Raccoon River Conference match-up. The women will tip off at 6:00 PM.
