Bombers Pick Up First Win Of Season
Ballard Defeats Clear Lake 37-27
The Bombers women's basketball team improved their record to 1-1 (0-0) with a hard-fought 37-27 victory over Clear Lake. Setting the tone early with a stifling defense, the Bombers held Clear Lake to just two points in the first quarter, building a 7-2 lead. Senior Raegan Loewe led the team offensively, scoring 14 points, including 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. Freshman Kaylor Johnson contributed significantly with a team-high 10 rebounds and 7 points.
The Bombers' defense proved to be the deciding factor, limiting Clear Lake to single-digit scoring in three quarters and forcing turnovers with 13 steals. Freshman Olivia Wacha recorded a game-high 6 steals while adding 6 points and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Raya Miller also made her mark with a perfect shooting night, tallying 5 points on 2-for-2 shooting, including a three-pointer.
Although the Bombers shot 27.7% from the field, they capitalized on second-chance opportunities with 13 offensive rebounds, helping to maintain their lead throughout the game.
The Bombers will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup against #4 Norwalk on Tuesday, December 3, at 6:00 PM.
