Women's Basketball Triumphs Over Toreadors
Ballard Defeats Boone 39-23
The Ballard women's basketball team delivered an impressive 39-23 victory over conference rival Boone on Tuesday night. The win brings the Bombers' record to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The Bombers set the tone early, dominating the first quarter with relentless defense and quick transitions, leading 11-2 after the opening period. They maintained their momentum into the second quarter, outscoring Boone 12-3 to head into halftime with a commanding 23-5 lead.
Boone attempted a rally in the third quarter, scoring 11 points—nearly matching their total from the first half—but Ballard's balanced offense and consistent rebounding kept the game firmly in control. Despite a slower fourth quarter offensively, the Bombers' early lead proved insurmountable, securing the decisive win.
Ballard showcased a strong defensive effort throughout the night, holding Boone to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters. The Bombers' teamwork and energy on both ends of the court were key factors in the victory.
Up next, Ballard faces a tough road challenge against second-ranked North Polk on Friday, December 13, with tip-off set for 6:00 PM.
