Women’s Basketball Falls to #12 Wildcats
#12 Carlisle Defeats Ballard 64-29
The Ballard women's basketball team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday night, hosting #12-ranked Carlisle at The Hangar. Despite a strong first quarter, Ballard couldn't keep pace with the Wildcats, falling 64-29. The loss drops the Bombers' record to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Ballard matched Carlisle point-for-point in the opening quarter, ending tied at 10-10. However, Carlisle's defensive pressure and offensive efficiency took over as the Wildcats outscored the Bombers 54-19 in the final three quarters. Senior Raegan Loewe led the Bombers with 15 points, shooting 42.9% from beyond the arc and adding seven rebounds. Freshman Kaylor Johnson grabbed eight rebounds and chipped in three points, while sophomore Grace Grundmeyer scored six points on a perfect 2-for-2 shooting night.
The Bombers will look to bounce back in their final game before winter break, traveling to ADM on Friday, December 20, for another conference matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
