Women's Basketball Falls to Tigers at The Hangar
#14 ADM Defeats Ballard 34-24
The Ballard women's basketball team struggled offensively in a tough matchup against #14 ADM, falling 34-24 at The Hangar on Friday night. The loss drops Ballard to 4-13 on the season and 3-10 in Raccoon River Conference play.
ADM jumped out to an early lead, outscoring Ballard 11-5 in the first quarter and holding the Bombers to just two points in the second frame. Despite an improved second half, Ballard couldn't overcome the deficit, ultimately falling short.
Senior Raegan Loewe led the Bombers with 12 points, knocking down two three-pointers while also grabbing three rebounds and recording a block. Freshman Olivia Wacha added six points, also hitting two shots from beyond the arc, while freshman Maci Harder contributed five points.
On the boards, Kaylor Johnson was a force, pulling down a team-high eight rebounds, while Wacha added six. Defensively, the Bombers tallied nine steals, with junior Jada Lande leading the way with four.
The team will look to bounce back in their next game as they host Gilbert on Tuesday, February 4, for Senior Night starting at 6:00 PM.
