Ballard Shoots A 455
The Ballard varsity women's golf team faced a strong field Tuesday at the Des Moines Christian meet, held at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club, finishing fourth overall with a team score of 455. Gilbert claimed the team title with a 347, followed by Des Moines Christian (360) and Nevada (416), while the Bombers rounded out the standings in a competitive lineup.
Ballard was led by Maddie Baltes, who turned in a round of 100 (+28) to finish eighth overall and pace the Bombers. Kallie Fulkerson added a 115, followed by Kendra Evans with a 117. Olivia Holsapple (123) and Cora Bohlen (130) completed the team scoring.
The meet featured several strong individual performances, highlighted by Gilbert's Ella Lohrbach, who earned medalist honors with a 77 (+5).
Despite the challenging course and deep competition, the Bombers gained valuable experience against quality opponents as the season continues to progress.
The Bombers return to action Thursday, April 23, when they travel to ADM for a 4:00 PM meet.
