Bombers Find Bright Spots at Glenn Brand Duals
Ballard Goes 0-4 On The Day
The Ballard men's wrestling team competed Saturday at the Glenn Brand Duals in Clarion, facing a demanding slate of opponents while navigating a depleted lineup due to illness. Despite missing several regulars and conceding multiple forfeits throughout the day, the Bombers continued to battle and gain valuable varsity experience against quality competition.
Ballard opened the day against host Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, falling 67–12. Sophomore Easton Enyeart provided a highlight with a pin at 132 pounds, securing a fall in 1:40. Senior Greyson Ehresman also picked up a win at 190 with a fall in 3:51. The Bombers were forced to give up several forfeits in the lighter weights, making it difficult to generate momentum in the dual.
Against Decorah, Ballard dropped a 70–10 decision. Enyeart remained perfect on the day at 132 pounds, earning a 16–3 major decision. At heavyweight, Walter Sterk collected a forfeit to account for Ballard's other points in the dual.
Ballard continued competition against Hampton-Dumont-CAL, falling 64–14. Enyeart once again delivered, recording a quick fall in just 38 seconds at 132 pounds. Carter Jeffs added a technical fall at 157 pounds, while Ehresman earned a 10–4 decision at 190 to round out the Bombers' scoring.
In the final dual of the day, Ballard faced West Marshall and fell 60–21. The Bombers showed resilience late in the event, picking up multiple wins. Enyeart capped an undefeated day with another pin at 132 pounds, this time in 32 seconds. Carter Jeffs recorded a fall at 157, Jayden Leland earned a 12–7 decision at 175, and Leif Jorgensen added a fall at 215 pounds.
Despite the team results, Ballard coaches were encouraged by the effort and toughness shown by the wrestlers who were able to compete, particularly under challenging circumstances with a shortened lineup.
Ballard's record now stands at 3–14 overall and 2–4 in conference duals. The Bombers return home on Thursday, January 15, when they host North Polk with action beginning at 5:30 PM.
