The Ballard women's soccer team hosted Van Meter on Tuesday night, dropping a 3-1 decision in its home opener.  Van Meter capitalized on scoring opportunities throughout the match, building enough separation to hold off the Bombers despite a competitive effort from Ballard.  The Bombers continued to battle for chances in the second half and found the back of the net on a goal from Maci Harder, providing a late spark for the home side.

While the final score didn't fall in their favor, Ballard showed resilience and continued to push the pace against a strong Van Meter squad.

With the loss, the Bombers move to 0-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play to start the season.

Ballard will look to bounce back quickly as they return to action Thursday, April 10, hosting Newton in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 5:30 PM.
