Offensive Outburst Not Enough as Bombers Fall 5-3
Colfax-Mingo Defeats Ballard 5-3
COLFAX — A fast start wasn't enough for Ballard on the road Monday night, as Colfax-Mingo surged in the second half to claim a 5-3 win in non-conference girls soccer action.
Ballard came out aggressive and efficient, putting three goals on the board in the opening half to take a 3-2 lead into the break. The Bombers generated consistent pressure in the attacking third, capitalizing on early opportunities and controlling the tempo for much of the first 40 minutes.
Colfax-Mingo, however, responded with resilience after halftime. The hosts flipped momentum with three unanswered goals in the second half, exploiting gaps in transition and finishing chances to pull away late.
With the result, Ballard moves to 4-3-1 overall, holding a 3-1-1 mark in conference play.
The Bombers will be back in action on Thursday - May 7 when they travel to Central Iowa United. The match will start at 5:30 PM.
