Bombers Control Dual from Start to Finish
Ballard Defeats North Polk 48-12
The Ballard women's wrestling team turned in a dominant performance Thursday night, defeating North Polk 48–12 in a dual that showcased depth, aggressiveness, and early-match finishes across multiple weight classes.
Ballard opened the dual with momentum and never looked back, recording pins in each of the first five contested matches. Evelyn Faubus (120) set the tone with a fall at 3:43, followed by quick pins from Harper Coppock (125), Charlee Neer (130), and Esther Wilson (135), who needed just 54 seconds to secure her victory. Kentley Wierson (140) capped the early surge with another fall at 3:27.
The Bombers continued to add points through forfeits at 145, 155, and 190 pounds, as Felicity Sharp, Amalia Olson, and Valentina Gutierres were each awarded wins. Several weights resulted in double forfeits, limiting scoring opportunities for both teams.
North Polk earned its points with pins at 110 and 115 pounds, but Ballard's early dominance and ability to capitalize on opportunities proved decisive in the team outcome.
With the win, Ballard improves to 4–7 on the season.
The Bombers will return to action on Saturday, January 17, competing in the Waukee Northwest Tournament beginning at 10:00 AM.
